Sierra at Tahoe Wedding | Annemarie & Ian

Annemarie & Ian’s special Sierra at Tahoe Wedding day was calm, romantic, and had the absolute best views. The fresh mountain air, crisp sunshine, and a whole lot of love made for the dreamiest wedding day.

Before we dive into the wedding day.. I wanted to share their proposal because these two just have the craziest luck! Ian planned a scavenger hunt proposal, a quest as he called it, with him waiting at the beach at the end. When he proposed and she said yes, he popped a bottle of champagne…and ended up breaking the glass and cutting his hand wide open! Definitely a memory they won’t forget!

Their proposal story is just as memorable as their wedding. There were worries, fears, and excitement surrounding them the weeks leading up to the wedding. Because this wasn’t just any ski resort wedding—Sierra-at-Tahoe almost didn’t make it here.

Just months before, the Caldor Fire tore through the area. With thousands evacuated and so many acres burned to the ground, it was looking grim for Ian and Annemarie’s big day. But Sierra survived, standing strong just like the community that loves it. For Ian, this venue was more than just a pretty backdrop—his dad was the general manager of Sierra at Tahoe, making this mountain a second home for him and his family. So, to celebrate here, after everything it had been through, made the day even more meaningful.

Annemarie and Ian stood there, surrounded by nature and their favorite people, promising forever. It was sweet, emotional, and surreal that this day was actually happening. The world suddenly stopped and the only thing that mattered in that moment was their love for each other.

A Golden Hour to End All Golden Hours

And of course, we ended the night with the sweetheart session to end all sweetheart sessions. Golden hour hit just right, casting that warm, glowy light over Annemarie and Ian like the universe itself was cheering them on. The mountain, the trees, the two of them wrapped up in the moment—it was pure magic. These are some of my all time favorite golden hour wedding photos to date.

After the "I dos," and the insane sunset we shared, the party delivered. Think cozy lodge vibes, a live band that took the energy to a whole new level, and some seriously good food. There’s just something about a live band that makes people dance like no one's watching—absolute magic.

Mountain weddings just hit different, and Annemarie and Ian’s was no exception. It was relaxed, full of personality, and wrapped in the kind of magic that only happens when two people truly, truly belong together.
